Acts 10:38
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. NKJV
It is good to remind ourselves that sickness is not from God. God wants you to be free from sickness and disease. This is one of the primary reasons that Jesus was sent here to the earth, to set us free from the oppression of the devil. So when you see sickness in your life you need to know that it is not the will of God for your life.
James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” NKJV
The Word of God says that we need to resist the devil and He will flee from us when we are walking with God and submitted to His word. What does it mean to resist the devil? When the enemy comes and tries to inflict his will upon your life, you resist him, you say no, you do not receive what he has to give. This includes sickness; you resist sickness like you would resist sin. Don’t give into it, speak to it and tell it to get out of your life.
I love the many illustrations in the Gospel where Jesus speaks to sickness. Let me give you an example: Peter’s mother in-law was sick with a fever and Jesus prayed for her.
Luke 4:39
So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. NKJV
Sickness can hear you when you speak words of faith. Speak to sickness in your life and tell it to leave in the name of Jesus. Resist it, like you would resist someone trying to harm you. With God you will prevail.
