Joshua 1:7 - Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
God encouraged Joshua to be strong and courageous when he became Israel's leader. Likewise, there are times in our lives when we face overwhelming circumstances, difficult tasks, health challenges, or financial struggles and are called to be courageous.
The Bible tells us to “fear not” 365 times, one for every day of the year. It’s easy to say we’re not afraid when life is going smoothly, but it’s when we get the phone call, the diagnosis, the bill we can’t pay, or the job loss that “fear not” becomes real. In those moments, we have a choice: we can trust God’s promises and ask Him for courage, or we can give in to fear and let it control us.
Being brave doesn’t mean fear never comes. Courage is choosing to press in anyway, even when the odds are against you, even when you feel like quitting. It’s standing firm, refusing to let fear dictate your steps, and trusting God to lead you through.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
If you want to stop living in fear, it’s important to pay attention to your thought life. The things you fear start in your mind. Your thoughts create the negative feelings and emotions that hold you back and keep you stuck. You have to renew your mind through God’s Word and dig into His promises. Speak God’s Word out loud so your ears can hear it, and it can take root in your heart. You need to retrain your thinking and remind yourself not to walk in fear. Declare 2 Timothy 1:7 over your life every day.
Living fear-free doesn’t mean there aren’t scary circumstances in your life or in the world right now. It means you are choosing to trust God to take care of you, to rely on His promises, and to focus on Him instead of your fear.
God doesn’t want you to be defeated by fear. He wants you to trust Him, take Him at His Word, and live a victorious life. The choice is yours: you can choose to be brave and listen to God’s voice, or you can be timid and afraid, never stepping into all that He has for you. Every day, your choices shape your outcome.
Allow your words to shape your thoughts and walk free from fear today. Be who God says you are, an overcomer.
Revelation 12:11 - And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,...
