When’s the last time you paused to pray for our church, not just generally, but specifically for our pastor, staff, leaders, worship director, and Kids Church team?

We know prayer is important, but it’s often overlooked. Yet the enemy actively tries to distract and derail the church. The New Testament exhorts believers to pray without ceasing, showing that prayer isn’t optional; it’s essential.

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 - Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s, strengthens us spiritually, reveals His direction, and equips us for battle. Here are some specific prayers and scriptures you can pray for our church.

Prayers for Growth & Boldness

Acts 2:47 – Thank You, Lord, that You are adding to the number of VCC daily those being saved.
Acts 4:29–30 – Father, empower Pastor Bob to speak Your Word boldly. Stretch out Your hand to heal and move in Jesus’ Name.
Acts 11:21 – Lord, Your hand is with us here at VCC; we pray that many will believe and turn to You.
Acts 6:7 – May the Word of God spread among us, with more disciples becoming obedient to the faith.

Prayers for Leadership

1 Timothy 1:12 – Thank You, Father, that Christ Jesus has strengthened Pastor Bob and our leaders and appointed them faithful to serve.
Isaiah 11:2–4 – May Your Spirit rest on our leaders — wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord.
Acts 22:14 – I believe Pastor Bob and our leaders hear Your voice and know Your will.

Prayers for the Church Family

Philippians 1:9–11 – Father, we pray that love abounds among us in knowledge and insight, so we discern what is best and live pure, blameless lives, filled with the fruit of righteousness. Ephesians 4:15 – Lord, we speak the truth in love and grow up into Christ, our Head.

For the Word & Its Impact

Isaiah 55:11 – May Pastor Bob’s preaching accomplish Your purposes and not return void.
Acts 5:14,16 – Thank You, Father, that multitudes are being added here at VCC, and Your healing power is at work among us.

As we bring these prayers before God, let’s come humbly, willing to obey, serve one another, and seek God first. Pray more, criticize less, and encourage one another in Christ.

Prayer: Father, help us be devoted to praying for one another and for our church. Thank You for always hearing us and answering as we call on You. Thank You for giving us a desire to pray so You can move freely in our church and in our lives. Lord, we are grateful to partner with You to see Your plans and purposes established at VCC. In Jesus’ name, amen.
