Mark 9:23 - "'If you can?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
Here we find the story of a desperate father bringing his son to Jesus for healing. You can almost feel his exhaustion; he had tried everything, even turned to the disciples, but nothing worked. Finally, with what little hope he had left, he came to Jesus. Yet even then, his words carried uncertainty: “If You can…”
How often do we find ourselves in the same place? Life wears us down, past disappointments weigh heavily, and before long, we approach God with hesitation instead of confidence. We may wonder if He’s willing, or if He even can. Those doubts keep our prayers small and our faith timid.
But God never intended for you to live with small expectations. He doesn’t want you wavering, unsure of His goodness. Over and over again, His Word reveals His heart and His promises toward you. He calls you to trust Him boldly, to believe Him fully, and to ask without fear.
Our God is big—bigger than your doubts, your past, and your problems. Nothing is outside His reach. Nothing is too difficult for Him. So lift your eyes higher, stretch your faith wider, and dare to believe that His plans for you are greater than anything you’ve imagined.
1 John 5:14-15 - This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-- whatever we ask-- we know that we have what we asked of him.
God longs for you to come to Him with confidence. Think of it this way: remember being in school and facing a big test? The only way you could walk into that room with assurance was if you had studied and knew the answers. In the same way, your confidence in God grows as you spend time in His Word. You will discover what He has already said about you, His promises, His plans, and His love. When you know the truth, you can pray with boldness.
Don’t settle for small, timid prayers. Don’t approach God as though you have to beg Him for scraps of blessing. His Word invites you to come boldly, as a child who is dearly loved. Break out of limited thinking, and stand firm in the confidence that your Father delights in hearing you and answering you.
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God is for you, not against you. He cares about every detail of your life and longs to step in and help. When you ask in faith, knowing that He is ready and willing, He will come to your aid and supply what you need.
Perhaps God has placed dreams in your heart, but they still feel out of reach. Maybe fear, disappointment, or delay has kept you standing at the base of your mountain, staring up at its shadow. But you don’t have to stay there. Mountains were never meant to paralyze you.
Our God is a mountain-moving God. He can remove the obstacle completely, or He can give you the strength and wisdom to climb over it. Either way, He has made a way forward. Your part is to rise in faith, boldly speaking to the mountains in your life, and trust His power to shift what you cannot.
Luke 1:37 - “For nothing is impossible with God."
I encourage you today to begin to be bold and courageous in your life. Go to God's Word and discover what God has planned for you. Seek out His promises. Let those words get deep inside your heart, then pray and ask God with confidence for the things you desire. God wants to do great things in your life! God wants us to think Big! Nothing is impossible with God!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to break out of small thinking. Help me to trust in your Word, to think big, and come to you with confidence. I thank you that your Word says you are for me today. With you, I know I can overcome any circumstance that comes my way. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
