Just Believe

Dear Friends,

This week I was reminded of the story in Mark 5 where the Synagogue ruler had asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter who was dying. As the story unfolds while they are on their way, a woman with an issue of blood presses through the crowd and touches the hem of His garment and is healed.  At the same time someone comes from the house of Jairus with news that it’s too late, his daughter is dead. I love the response that Jesus gives to Jairus at that moment.
Mark 5:36 He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” NKJV

Many times in life we are faced with overwhelming circumstances, we set out to believe God and put our trust in Him and then a negative report comes and we feel like giving up. Maybe the enemy will even whisper in your ear: it’s too late, nothing can help now.  We should also hear the words of Jesus in our lives; he said
Do not be afraid, just believe.

God can turn the darkest of situations around in your life if you continue to believe and trust Him. Jairus choose to move forward and he trusted what Jesus said.  The results were that his daughter was healed.  It’s easy to let fear take you out of the race.  Fear will hinder you from believing the Word of God and will only bring destruction into your life.

The Word of God says:

2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. NKJV

You must make every effort to remove fear from your lives and continue to believe God’s word.  Don’t allow circumstance in your life determine what you are going to believe.  Make up your mind that you are going to trust God’s Word and that He will deliver you from any trouble in your life.  God is well able to help you in any way that you need him, but you must believe in Him!

As always, know that you are loved and cared for today.  Reach out and be a blessing to someone in your life and share the good news of the gospel.
